Back in San Diego-Just in time for Christmas

Family!
Merry Christmas! I was able to speak to some of you on the phone for Christmas and it was SO GOOD. I may retell some of the stories that I told over the phone but not everyone got to hear them.Today is my first Preparation Day back in the mission field and it feels so good to be a missionary again. I am not going to lie that it was hard at first but now I am rolling back into action. I was so excited to get myself back here that I forgot the hard stuff but now I am remembering the good stuff as well. Last night when Sister Kearsley and I knelt down to pray, we were being all calm and stuff because we were super tired. All of a sudden Sister Kearsley let out a blood curdling scream and I looked over expecting us to be under attack but instead a tiny earwig was running across the table. It scared her pretty bad but we were laughing so hard. We are having a lot of fun together and are really close!
When I landed in Salt Lake City, I was talking to a 16 year boy who was going to meet his dad for the first time since we was 5. We was super nervous and it was also his first time on an airplane. Well this other man about 24 years old came smiling at me like a school boy so I figured that he must be a RM and was excited to see a missionary. When I went to get on the airplane to San Diego he was standing with the flight attendants and proudly stated that I had a new seat 3A. I looked really confused and the flight attended said that is in first class and that he really wants to switch seats with me. That I should be very grateful for how nice this man is. I was completely taken of guard and he was so excited for me to have his seat. I asked him where he served his mission and he said I haven't served a mission but that he had just gotten baptized. I started crying and thanked him for his generosity. We talked a little bit about how I was returning to the mission field and how he is so grateful to missionaries all over the world for sharing the message that he just received in August. It was such a neat experience. Proof once again that God is looking out for me!
Sister Kearsley is from Beaverton, Oregon which is a small town by Portland. I seriously prayed for a companion like her. She knows why she is here and we have a lot of fun. She came out a transfer before I did so we knew each other pretty well before we became companions. I was SO EXCITED to find out her waiting for me in the Battalion parking lot when I arrived. President Clayton and I think alike because he kept that I was coming a secret as well and no one knew I was coming except those that needed to prepare for me. We are serving in the El Cajon Avacado Ward and it is ballin. But seriously though, it is ghetto. I am in love. It is everything that La Jolla is not so I am pretty excited about the change. It is a fresh start all around.
We got right into missionary work when I arrived and I put my pioneer dress on the second I got there. I snuck in the back door of the Battalion and about gave Sister Stallings a heart attack. She started sobbing because it overwhelmed her so much to have me back again and Sister Pelfrey just got called back into the Battalion again as well. I am already seeing the miracles that the Battalion brings. We took a tour of 7 Muslims and all 7 of them want a copy of the Book of Mormon. I also took a family from Israel yesterday. All I have to do is stay in one spot and the whole world comes to us and the Spirit is able to touch their lives with this amazing story. Yes, I have already shown off my pictures of the family member in the Mormon Battalion. Too legit!
Christmas day was super weird with no snow and a beautiful sun but it was neat to get to go to church to meet the ward for the first time. The ward has a very strong spirit. We spent the afternoon at the Battalion, teaching a 12 year old recent convert Seth who is super cool, and we had dinner at Bishop Duffins. They gave us the cool scarfs with their granddaughter in the picture.
The Lord has been good to me! I am grateful to serve once again and to carry my Savior's name again. There is no better Christmas gift then that.  I love you all and miss you! The church is true so keep spreading the word!
Love,
Sister Haggerty :)
