FAMILY!!!!
Wow, I can't believe I am actually here at the MTC!!! I know I acted really tough when you dropped me off but honestly I was scared witless and it was like walking into a foreign land. I'm not nervous to be here but it was sure a shock at the same time! But I made it through my FIRST week! When I got here I got two companions because one other sister had not shown up yet. My companion's name is Sister Kunz and she is from Mapleton, Utah. She is a tiny little thing with dark hair and about 5'2. I feel HUGE next to her but I love her to death. She reminds me a lot of Megan Stewart. Shy but when you get to know her or get her going she laughs like crazy! She's super stubborn though and won't lie to you even if you want her to. I noted that one of my night shirts seemed tighter and I asked if I have gotten fatter while I'm here or if the shirt shrunk. She just shrugged her shoulders and did NOT give me the answer I wanted! :) But no really I actually think I'm losing weight here. I get up at 5:45 every morning because we have an option Sisters workout at 6 am and we have decided to go! It's like Pilates, kickboxing, yoga, etc. We also have assigned gym time every day when we play volleyball, run, or use the workout equipment. I usually play four square or volleyball. We work out A LOT. I love it but I am SOOO tired all the time. It's not too hard to get up but some morning Sister Burden and I lay on our top bunks not wanting to move while the other two Sisters are up and going. Sister Burden was my other comp for a couple of days until her companion from Canada finally got her Visa and made it. She is from Ryrie Idaho (not sure I spelled it right but it's in between Idaho Falls & Rexburg) She reminds me so much of my dear friend Kendra Hayne. She's 6' and she rocks it. She has dirty blonde hair and she is a little spit fire. She's actually a lot like me as well and we always say the same thing at the same time or look at each other to know we are thinking the same thing. I love it! But our dear Canadian Sister Tanner made it on Friday and she is 24 years old so it was a pretty hard decision for her to come. She is very animated when she speaks and she will make a comment, get really big eyes, and then look around to see if we got how exciting or epic what she just said is. I feel very blessed to have such amazing sisters!!! I did in fact eat my Lucky Charms Thursday morning with Grandpa and it made me smile. It made me miss them as well! We have a very different training program from all the other missionaries. There are 3 Elders and 4 Sisters in my district and about 30 missionaries in my zone out of 2,050 missionaries at the MTC. My zone and another zone are the only ones doing this program. Everyone else has free time and we don't have any! We also teach twice as much as the other programs. I spend all day every day with my district so we have gotten very close to each other and we already feel like a big family. I felt extremely prepared for this program and I've really enjoyed have it stepped up for us. It's a lot of work but I love teaching with Sister Kunz. She is a spiritual rock and giant!!! Our teachers (to guys and one girl all fresh of the mission that always spend time with us) pretend to be investigators with different situations that we are progressing to baptism and we teach one of them every single day but Sunday. Saturdays are the same as every other day. We teach so well together and after our lessons teachers never have any suggestions because we are so perfect... ;) But really the Spirit is so strong when we teach and we've loved every second. It's like a roller coaster here. When I'm high, I'm real high. When it's low, it's real low. Every missionary says the same thing but all of us LOVE being here. In one week we have all grown so much and the elders have already changed and become more mature. It is amazing to see the Spirit work in our lives and theirs as well. I've actually been told that some of my dresses are too long so I have to get them hemmed. Haha Mom, who would have guessed that one, would happen? Side note: it's the skirts you made me get that I have to shorten... :) Love you! Wednesday is our P-Day so expect to get an email on that day or I can't write or email any other day! It keeps us focused on the work and I can't read letters or open packages until night. So far I have gotten a letter from Grandparents, Kyrie, Debbie, Mom twice (thank you so much for the package! loved that eggs!). The rest of you need to step up your game. :) But yesterday it was snowing all day but every time we had to walk outside the clouds parted and the sun came out. It was a very huge blessing and it made us laugh every time. Well my half hour is up so I need to end this but I will write you more next week!!! I LOVE YOU ALL LOTS and miss you tons! The church is true so spread the word!!!
Love,
