Week 18 July 26, 2011

Family! :)

Hello Dearest Family!

Thank you all for keeping me in your prayers this week. I could for sure feel the love of my family this week. I LOVED the pictures of Park City that I got today and was sad that I missed it. It looked like you all had sooo much fun! Here are some pictures of me at the zoo with my new companion Sister Pelfrey and with Krystin our recent convert. The picture with the family is the family that paid for us to go to the zoo. They were such an amazing family! I've felt a lot better this week when I remembered the eternal perspective. Imagine taking a rope that goes forever in both directions. Tie a knot in it and that is our earth life. Surely puts it into perspective doesn't it!? I just had to remind myself that a year and a half is only a little tiny dot on that knot. This mission will honestly change my entire future for the better. I'm still growing but in ways that I could never imagine that I could. Sister Pelfrey is honestly one of the best missionaries I have ever met. She keeps me on my toes and we balance each other out on a lot of things. We are something you might call the dream team. :) Last week we found sponge curlers in our apartment like what mom and dad used to put in my hair. We each took turns using them and it cracked us up for sure. We've been working really hard to organize our area and to get it really under way. We've cleaned out our area book (a book that is a record of all the people we are teaching or that are potentially interested) and are going to go clean out our apartment really good right now. We picked up two new investigators this last week named Lacey and Volkmar. Sunday was a day of miracles. We had been having a hard time finding people to teach so we decided to fast on Sunday. An investigator walked in and sat right next to me in Sacrament that we didn't expect (Lacey)! After church we were both dying of hunger. Apparently, Sister Pelfrey is just as bad of a faster as me so we debated if we should go eat before we passed out or if we should contact the people we had planned on. We decided to pray about it and when we finished the prayer we look in the back seat and found a bag of oranges. Yeah, we got what God was trying to tell us really quick! Get to work and I'll provide for you. Well we figured out that the Elders took our car while we were in church and left us a bag of oranges on the back seat! It is such a small thing but a tender mercy from God. We were able to go meet Volkmar and he wants us to come back tonight! We all can see miracles every single day if we look for them. Well family I just love you so much and think about you every day. Grandma and Grandpa thank you for always writing me and I'll write you a real letter right now!!! I think about you both so much and I am afraid that the squash is illegal to mail but I'll look into it more. :) I love you all lots!

Sister Haggerty
