Week 10 May 31, 2011

Greetings!

Aloha Familia!

Sorry I didn't email last week but I sat down and couldn't think of anything to say. But we have had some really funny things happen this week. Sister Seguin and I were on our way to contact a possible referral in a complex and were walking in the parking lot. She saw a dog behind a fence and starts talking about how she hates it when dogs chase her and that it freaks her out. Well we keep walking and I look back to see the dog running straight at us with no fence to block it. So I get the look of panic on my face but I don't want to panic her so I try to calmly say umm... the dog is running straight at us. Apparently, my face did not look calm and she grabbed my hand and we start booking it. All of a sudden a lady flies around the corner and yells MAX get back here. He stops right before the dog jumped on us and we fall over laughing. The lady starts laughing with us and I honestly almost peed my skirt. We obviously don't wear pants so that wouldn't work. I also gave my first invitation to be baptized last week and I think my heart stopped. We were teaching Mollie about the Restoration and we had about three of the girls from the ward that are AMAZING. One of the girls Ashleigh is a convert and she had just born a solid testimony about how she decided to join the church. So we explained the importance of baptism and the new missionary is supposed to extend the invitation so I knew we had gotten to that point and it just came out. It went dead silent and I'm pretty sure my heart almost came out of my chest. But she explained that she wants to be baptized but not yet. She is so solid but she just wasn't ever told that God and Jesus Christ are real so it's taking a bit for her to comprehend. I can't wait for her to get baptized and to have the amazing gift of the Holy Ghost and Atonement in her life. I don't know what I would do without it! But time is short so I have got to go but we are continuing to spread the good word of the gospel in San Diego! I'm going to bring my journal next time so I can remember what to say. I realized that this is the first Memorial Day in my life that I wasn't home for. I hope that everyone just sat in the Jetnie Bug and cried missing me so much. I also hope that you went to Brad's in honor of me. I've thought a lot about grandma and grandpa so I hope they got my letter! I love the work! I love you all so much and think of you every day since your pictures are all on my wall. :) The church is true so keep spreading the word!

Love,

Sister Haggerty
