I hope they call me on a MISSION! San Diego here I come!
What an emotional rollercoaster this last week has been. From getting told to check my foot out AGAIN to the doctor telling me it was okay to the MTC doctor telling me that I shouldn't have even been able to come on a mission to telling me that I would get sent home to getting told that my mission president is letting me stay to talking to the parents. President Donaldson's exact/the gist of what he said to the MTC doctor, "Duh! I knew she had foot problems and of course I want her to fly out when she is supposed to. Tell her to put her boot on, buck up, and get on the airplane with the 20 other missionaries!" I've come to two conclusions.
First: Not only is my foot a thermometer and tells me when it's going to snow like an old lady (no offense Grandma I promise!), but it is also known as my pride foot. Whenever I start to deviate from God's will for me, and I am not moldable in the Lord's hands, is when it starts hurting again. It is often a reminder that I need to humble myself before the Lord and kneel in humility and willingness to change. So the valuable lesson of the day is that my foot will never fully heal. I also received a blessing from Elder Howells on Wednesday that taught me a lot of valuable lessons. It said that my foot would be well enough for me to complete my mission but that it would not be fully healed. I also received a blessing from Elder Shirrod Sunday night before they left and he also gave me an amazing blessing of strength and protection. He also said that one day I would take my husband to the temple. I always knew I would end up wearing the pants. :) If I had faith in these blessings I would have known that everything would be okay but once again I needed to be taught. My faith has been strengthened in the Atonement once again and the healing power that it has.
Second: I think I needed to lose it for a day to realize how much I want and need to be here. I hope that I never forget the lessons that I have learned. Not only are we extremely blessed for being here but we can bless generations. I would never exchange the experience that I am having here. Satan tried to get me but I don't think he knew I have a steal boot! Bring it on! :)
Mom: Visitor Center training started on Wednesday so they got rid of our P-day and exchanged it to today! We went to the temple just barely in the snow but I LOVED IT! The VC training is so much stinkin fun! We have so many different cultures in our district. There are 31 sisters going to Temple Square, Washington DC, Nauvoo, and SAN DIEGO!!!! Sisters from Austria, Sweden, France, Zambia Africa, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Canada, Armenia, and Russia are heading to Temple Square. They have mixed feeling on whether they are excited to serve there or not. I told them to be excited for CHRISTMAS because it is so pretty then and then they say but it will be so cold! I love them so much! There are 5 of us going to the Holy Land. One Spanish speaking sister joined up with us this week! The new program with no free time is amazing but it has been nice to go to VC training now. We get tons of free time to learn how to use kiosks, watch the movies they play there, practice teaching with pictures, studying the Mormon Battalion script, and studying the MoBatt (as we now call it) history. Really it's the perfect mission on the planet. We also have the coolest and most high tech mission in the world. But we are not biased at all. :) I don't need any sheets or shoes yet but we'll see when I get to San Diego ON TUESDAY!!!! I'm really really really excited to shake President Donaldson's hand and put as much emotion as I can into that handshake to let him know my gratitude for standing up for me! I already love him. We got THREE beautiful pioneer dresses and they are shipping out two and having us take one just in case. I'm pretty worried about luggage weight so I'm sending out a package today for myself! We get to go to temple square tomorrow night to practice so if anyone is in town you may see me... :) I love you this much 8 (imagine sideways and it being the eternity symbol!) I'm sending you a letter today!
Dad: You get your own email! :)
Jake: Yes it is the 50 year anniversary celebration in December! We were sad that we didn't get to see it but the movie was made while we were here! Did you get to watch it during conference? We did and it explains exactly what happens here so I hope Mom watched it since she keeps asking questions! I could picture grandma and grandpa watching it when I did so I hope they were! I haven't heard any cool stories about the MTC so keep sharing them! That's way cool! The power that is here blows my mind every single day. It is so amazing to see and to experience. The Spirit is indescribable but I'm sure you know what it is like! I honestly love this place but I can't wait to get into San Diego!!! I miss your cute family and I loved the letter mom sent from Dayton and Kobe. Dayton "I am four years old and I don't pee in my underpants." I laughed for hours and still laugh now! Kiss them for me and tell them I love them! I can't wait to see Dayton do Karate!
Joshua: Pick it up brother and you need to email me too! Say hello to your family and tell Kelson I love him and give him a big kiss from me!
Departure date: April 12 at 8:30 am. We leave the MTC at 5 am and I should be able to call home before I fly out! Which number should I call!? I won't be able to check my email until I am in San Diego so DearElder me when! I love you all so much but I am so grateful to be learning so much. I know that I have a loving Savior that has sent angels that are protecting not only me but all of my family. It gives me amazing comfort! The church is true so keep spreading the word!
